Clinics/Child Immunisation

NURSE PRACTITIONER CLINIC

The Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse with advance training in nursing, medical science and pharmacology.  She may see patients with common problems and make an assessment of their needs.  She can provide treatment, arrange investigations, prescribe medicines and organise other care if needed.

Nurse Victoria Yorke runs daily clinics seeing patients with minor illnesses, chronic diseases and for family planning advice.  She does not see children under 1 year or pregnant women with problems related to pregnancy.

 

FAMILY PLANNING CLINICS

The practice offers a full family planning service, including the fitting of caps and coils and prescribing emergency contraception (the so called ‘morning after pill’)

Advice is given by a family planning trained nurse or your GP,  for the insertion or the removal of “coils”

 

ANTE - NATAL CLINICS

All GPs look after their pregnant patients with the help of the attached midwives and ante-natal clinics are held on Tuesday afternoons (by Frimley Park midwife team) and Wednesday afternoons (by Royal Surrey)..

NOTE:  We require signed consent from the child’s parent or guardian before immunisation.

Due to Health & Safety Regulations the Practice cannot provide toys or books, therefore, please bring your own to occupy your child whilst waiting for an appointment.

ASTHMA CLINIC AND CHRONIC AIRWAYS DISEASE MANAGEMENT

Run in conjunction with your GP and a specialist nurse on a weekly basis.

 

STOP SMOKING CLINIC

Are you thinking of stopping smoking? If you are, we run a clinic on Monday evenings from 6pm until 8pm.  Please call us for more information of drop into the surgery.

 

DIABETIC CLINIC

Run regularly by our specialist nurses and GP’s.

 

FLU VACCINATION CLINICS

These are held each year in October and November.  These injections provide valuable protection against flu in ‘at-risk’ patients and those over 65..  Please check the website nearer the season for information.

 

MINOR SURGERY

Some minor operations including cryotherapy can be performed in the surgery by the doctor.  Please ask your doctor.

Morgan trained with frimley Park NHS Trust and gained experience there for five and a half years before joining Downing Street Group Practice in July 2005

Kay joined us as Health Care Assistant in 2011 having previously worked at the Royal Surrey.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

08:30am - 4:30 pm

Fasting Tests - fast for twelve hours (overnight) before the test is due and take ONLY WATER in the morning of the test.

Results - usually take a week to return to the surgery.  Telephone between 12 midday and 4pm Monday to friday on 01252 716226

 

 

 

TRAVEL SERVICE

Advice on foreign travel and travel injections are available, providing we have sufficient notice.  Some courses of travel injections can take several months to complete, so please contact the surgery in plenty of time before you travel, or go on holiday.  If you are a last minute traveller, please contact:
