A Message from Cathryn Trezise

I was lucky enough to participate in the summer months in a very successful Walk In the Park for Diabetes UK which raised £14,500, the greatest amount from any walk outside London and I’ve now got the ‘Bug’, the fundraising one that is.

With the groundwork already underway for next years walk (June 18th 2006, a date for the diary), I felt I needed another project!

So when Trish, a nurse colleague and I discovered over coffee one morning that we were to celebrate a milestone birthday within days of each other we knew we could rise to a new challenge.

Yes, we are off to Peru. We immediately contacted The British Heart Foundation with whom Trish had already biked and walked with before and within days we had a place booked to participate in a five day trek between Cusco and the peaks of Machu Picchu. Inca Trail here we come! The itinerary suggests some precarious moments ahead as the campsites include those on high ledges.

We are currently busy raising funds to take part and are pleased entrepreneurial skills are paying off having reached out half way target ahead of time. We have held specific events and one of the most successful so far has been an inter-surgery Tennis Tournament which grew from a friendly out of hours tennis knock up between the staff from both practices. It is anticipated that this will become a regular event as it was enjoyed by all despite a very cold September day. Future events are planned and as we sit and plan we never know what might transpire into a good idea.

We would like to thank all local businesses, colleagues, family and friends who have helped us reach our target so far and look forward to the months ahead.

Anyone interested in helping further with this project, please contact Cathryn at the surgery.

Fire Training

What can we say. Some of our staff recently attended a fire training course. We’re pretty sure that there was something serious behind the day and that, well, hopefully the training will never need to be put to use, but looking at these pictures....

Hasta La Vista Baby.

You dirty rat.

I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.

If you look really closely you can see a face. Not sure, scroll down.
