A LETTER FROM MEMBERS OF THE
DOWNING STREET PATIENT LIAISON GROUP
Dear Patients,
You may have spoken to one of us during those days a little while ago in the surgery waiting room talking to patients of all ages and asking for their views on the surgery.
Among the suggestions was one for a cool water system which, though rather expensive to run, has now been installed by the practice for patient’s use.
The Downing Street Partnership, we find, is constantly seeking ways of improving the surgery for us all and believe one way would be a simple-to-use automated touch screen check in system which would help avoid queues at the ever-busy reception desk. These systems, however, do cost rather a lot of money – three and a half thousand pounds.
With this latest purchase in mind, Dr Chris Tibbott (who for many years has raised money for the Arthritis Research Council charity) will this year be leading a team of doctors, nurses, receptionists and other staff on a fund raising walk. Half the money raised will go to ARC and half to the touch screen system. The team will be walking the St Swithins Way – 40 kilometres reflecting the 40th anniversary of the Farnham branch of ARC.
Volunteers will be stepping out from Winchester to Four Marks on September 23rd and from Four Marks to Farnham on October 1st.
We hope as many people as possible will support our dedicated surgery team in this effort.
Sincerely,
The Downing Street Patient Liaison Group
P.S. Sponsorship forms can be obtained at the reception desk and donations left there.
